GraysonPerry @ The MCA

Grayson Perry the cross dresser from Essex, happily married with kids, heavy social comment. We had to pay to see his work! I did though, really appreciate the work, some masterpieces there, took over the whole floor, very dense, very prodigious, very envious of the man, he is driven.

Café - Madame Frou Frou

Back to the cafes, Madame Frou Frou, along Glebe Point Road, towards the better end, quiet and civilised, nice if you are in that mood.

On The Buses

The title of course was a long running British sitcom of the sixties, no relation.
Buses of that vintage were running along George Street on Saturday for the very last time before work commences on the light rail, what fun.

Have your fare ready boys and girls, all your ha'pennys and
threepences, all your bobs and florins.

Back From AGNSW

Saw a Japanese film, what else, at the gallery then walked back through The Domain and Sydney Hospital, always pleasant.

The Star

A celebration. We thought some swimming would be good, hotel with a pool. The Star was the closest and had a good sized pool, only bummer, it was cold. However, it has now become a food destination, so there we were in our capsule, very enjoyable, didn't of course go anywhere near the gaming tables, in fact they are quite removed when staying in the hotel. The Japanese breakfast at Sokyo was memorable, felt like we were back in Japan.
Taken with my new 'are, bure, boke' pocket camera.

Three Day Weekend

Me and the kids, three day weekend. It started out as a bonding weekend, organised by my daughter, a cabin in the mountains, open fire, star filled sky. Then I got sick, my old nemesis, prostate cancer, the drugs of the past ten years stopped working and it went into overdrive. Fortunately just before the weekend, which had become the three of us hanging out in Sydney, my health improved markedly.
So, good times, I love these guys.

The Café

We are always deciding where to have coffee, spoiled for choice we spread ourselves around, a daily ritual. I decided I should start recording some of these experiences, not that I haven't in the past, but this time with more of the eye of a social observer perhaps.
First up 80 Bay Street.

Kangaroo Island

K.I. as the locals call it, major tourist destination, lucky we were off season. Not quite what I expected, big, 150kms by 90kms, lots of driving to reach the national park, the reason we were there, which occupies about 20% of the western end of KI, the rest is rural and just like any bit of Australian bush really.
Good rocks, Remarkables, best coastal heath I've seen, no seals pics, well I did photograph some at some distance off a cliff, otherwise there's Seal Bay, a virtual theme park, you pay to step on the beach, in a tour, no thank you!

Mummy...

We were marooned on KI for another day due to the ferry not
running. Time to explore Penneshaw.

The fish shop, world famous, but closed for the season.
